Shannon Mason

 Hometown: Kelowna, BC

 

Shannon “Shaggy” Mason grew up in tropical Queensland, Australia, racing motocross most of his youth years and transitioning into coaching motocross/offroad for nearly a decade. When planning a “short trip” to North America in 2015, he came across a website advertising a snowbike race in McCall Idaho and wondered what a snowbike was.

Clicking that link changed him forever; he knew snowbiking was what he was put on the earth to do! He bought a bike and kit months before leaving Australia, then built it up on arrival in Idaho and raced the event three days later. Shannon was hooked! He then got his wife Tess into the sport as well and then a couple of years later they opened up their own snowbike rental company in BC, Canada.

Fast forward through many years of snowbike racing, renting and doing every last thing possible on snowbikes, it can be safely said that Shannon dedicates his life to the sport of snowbiking and lives for winter! You’ll see him set gnarly lines across BC and northwest USA states all winter long where he will always tell you “don’t just half fang it... full fang it!”.
